myBurgerLab, Seapark

Once in awhile it's perfect fine to have cheat meals(:

I was having a burger craving at midnight one day, so I messaged my friends (at midnight) and asked if we could go Burger Lab the next day...
They replied me the next morning, and being the awesome friends they are, WE WENT TO BURGER LAB :D

I know everyoneeeee has tried it before, if you haven't, don't miss out!

Though this is kinda an overdue post, but I gotta share this tastyyyy burger with you! (Especially if you haven't tried it yet)

So, burger lab is known for their really good patties, their charcoal buns and their various combinations of burgers....

What do I have to say?

1. THEIR PATTIES ARE AWESOME. It's so thick, juicy, with a burst of flavours! (Thinking bout it now makes me wanna go back for moreeee!)

2. Charcoal buns? Uhh. Honestly it taste like normal buns to me...

3. They have soooo many combinations of burgers that I couldn't decide which to get! There's also a choice of beef, chicken or vegetarian and each comes in many many varieties!

Me and my friends chose beef, as they said beef tastes the best
(Though I haven't tried chicken or vegetarian)

I had the A+ burger while they had the Hangover :P

My A+ ;)

The set comes with fries and refillable soft drinks (I had ice lemon tea, not the best choice of drinks as it was really sweet, but it was the best choice amongst the other soft drinks)
They had pepsi, mountain dew, iced lemon tea, and others which I don't remember :P

The fries were good too, seasoned with herbs, its better than other fries I've had but it was nothing special to spend my extra calories on :P (Besides, I'm not a fan of fries)

Next visit, I'll just get the burger(:

Homemade almond butter!

I know lots of people who loveee peanut butter, but have you guys heard of almond butter?
Well, living in Malaysia, you can't find almond butter at your local supermarket
(well, I haven't even found almond butter anywhere, yettt)

So why not make them yourself?
Worry not! It's really easy to make! :D

All you will need is,
1. Almonds!
2. A blender
3. Toaster/Oven (optional)
4. Olive oil

My half pack of almonds(:

*Optional step*
Place them on a baking sheet and put them in the oven (or toaster, like me) for bout 10 minutes...
If you're using an oven, preheat the oven and bake them at 350 degrees for about 5/6 minutes, until the almonds turn slightly darker in colour
(Be careful not to burn them! Must keep an eye on them yeah?)

Then, put your almonds into the blender...
If your blender is small (like mine), put small amounts first, then slowly add on...
Adjust the amount of almonds according to the size of your blender(:

First it will turn into a coarse meal,
Then, add a teaspoon of olive oil to the coarse meal and let it blend until it comes out smoothly.

*You can add another teaspoon of olive oil if your mixture is still thick

Continue blending until you can a smoooooth almond butter :D

Then, scoop it out, taste it and place it into a container(:

TADAA! Your very own homemade almond butter(:

You can store it into the fridge if you want, but I didn't and it turned out fine(:
It definitely doesn't taste like the usual store bought peanut butter as they usually add salt, sugar or other flavourings. But if you like a sweeter taste, you can add honey or salt during the blending process(:

I liked that this tastes so natural, and it has a very nutty flavour compared to any other peanut butter I've tried(:

If you're gonna try this recipe, have fun! :D

Let me know how it turns out, and if you have any questions you can ask me in the comments below(:

Maria's Restaurant & Cafe, Damansara Perdana

Looking for a place where you and your significant other can have nice dinner without interruptions?
I definitely recommend Maria's Cafe :)

It's a simple, well decorated, romantic restaurant located on the top floor of Metropolitan Square, Damansara Perdana.
Maria's Cafe is one of my favourite places to go for a dinner date as it is very affordable and the atmosphere is very comfortable and romantic, somewhere you and your date can have some quiet time together and have a nice conversation(:

and of course, they have good food! :D

Mushroom soup, RM7.50
This was goooood! One of the best mushroom soup I have tasted so far(:

Grilled chicken, with mushroom sauce; RM18
The mushroom sauce was fine, just average for me.

Grilled chicken, with honey mustard sauce; RM18
This is wayyy better! :D The honey mustard sauce is something different and I definitely enjoyed it(:
For both dishes, the chicken was tender and delicious. Though I would prefer if they'd use the chicken breast for this dish, maybe I could have requested it, but I didn't. Might do that next time.
Initially I couldn't decide whether to order the grilled chicken or salmon, will definitely go back to try their grilled salmon next time(:

After we finished dinner, the waiter cleared our table and serve dessert :D *my favourite part of the meal
Tiramisu; RM13.50
THIS WAS SOOOOOO GOOD!
Words can't describe how good this is... Such a delicious and heavenly ending to my experience at Maria's Cafe :)
and their portion is generous too, this was quite big, more than enough for one person... Glad I had this to share(:

Closer view of the tiramisu, doesn't it look sooo good?
I'll definitely come back again just for this :D

Ours Cafe, Bandar Sri Damansara

Ours Cafe, my usual hang out spot for tea time(:
I've been here with some friends and many many times with Shen, as he loves their cake and ice lemon tea.

The place is comfy, the price is reasonable and their cakes are delicious(:

Red Velvet Cake; RM6 per slice
This is our favourite :)
The cake is so moist, and there's just the right amount of cream. (I don't like cakes with too much cream)
I'm not sure how this compares to red velvet cakes elsewhere though, but I love this.

Rainbow Cake; RM7 per slice
The rainbow cake tastes good but there's nothing special actually.
Tastes like vanilla cake, just that the colours are really pretty?
But honestly the amount of colouring kinda scares me, so I rather not eat it.
Shen already started eating before I took this photo, hence the shape of the cake. Hahaha
I know kids love it though, my younger cousins loved it so much when I brought them here.

Carrot Cake; RM6 per slice
This is so delicious(:
Another one of my favourite, though Shen doesn't really like this cake.
I would say it's similar to Secret Recipe's carrot cake, but this is definitely more moist(:

Here's another FULL picture of the rainbow cake,
as the other was already eaten, hahaha

This was when I brought my cousins, the photo isn't clear as they were rushing me so they can have their second round of cake,
You can also see the mess from the first round in the background, haha

PS. These photos were not all taken in one trip,
I've been to this cafe many many times, haha

Pasta buffet at Secret of Louisiana, Kelana Jaya

PASTA BUFFET!
Doesn't this sound tempting? Especially if you love carbs :D

Well, you don't have to search high and low for a restaurant which serves you this,
You can find this at Secret of Louisiana at Plaza Kelana Jaya! :D
PS. It's also located next to a manmade lake at Kelana Jaya, so the set up is pretty nice too(:

I went with my college friends; Huey Ni, Zue Wen, Vin Yee, Ann and Wilson
It was nice to catch up with them(:
We went quite late though, about 1pm++
(The buffet starts at 11.30am till 3pm)
The place was already full when we reached, but the staff was kind enough to open another area for us. They were very friendly too(:

So once the 6 of us were seated, they came to get our orders...

Let's start with the PASTAAAA!

Creamy pesto with white fish (My first plate)
This is my favourite among the 8 choices of pasta :D
(Which explains why its the first photo, haha)
The creamy pesto sauce was goood,
though I wished they'd serve a larger portion of fish, but it's understandable since it's a PASTA buffet.

Cajun garlic shrimp (My second plate)
This was fine too, the prawns were considerably fresh,
though the pasta was abit plain for me.
So I halfway through I ended up switching with Wilson for his creamy pesto, haha

and I stopped there.
Too much pasta for me, got sick of it after the second plate as I was already full...

But here's the other pastas which my friends had(:
Tried abit of each from them too, but none tastes as good as the creamy pesto, haha
or maybe cos I was already sick of pasta...

Pasta vongolle

Beef bolognaise

Chicken with olive

Chicken smoked sausage

Mexican aglio olive

*insert photo of carbonara here*

We forgot to take photo of the carbonara as we were too busy eating :P
Overall the pastas are just average, nothing really special to talk about.
Not exactly a fan of buffets, so this isn't suitable for me as I don't(and I don't want to) eat much, especially since it's mainly carbs.
But it's only RM18 per person actually (RM15.50 + tax)

Though if you have a big appetite, you should definitely give it a try!
Especially for those bulking or having carbs day, the pasta buffet is definitely a good place to visit(:
but unlike other buffets, you can't waste food here.
The ad said that we'd have to pay RM5 for every 100gm wasted, though we didn't waste any food so not sure if they're that strict.
Anyhow, it's not good to waste food! :)

Besides the pasta, the buffet also comes with free flow of ice lemon tea, english hot tea, hot brewed coffee, soup of the day, garlic bread and salad.
also for dessert, you get 1 scoop of the ice-cream of the day.

The soup of the day; Tomato soup
This was fine, but I didn't quite like it.

Their ice lemon tea.

Ice cream of the day; Chocolate ice cream
The usual chocolate ice cream you get at the supermarket, it was fine but I didn't finish mine as I didn't quite like it.

*Photo taken from their website

PS. Photos were taken by me, Huey Ni & Vin Yee, which explains the different styles of photopgraphy throughout this post, haha

That's all for this post!
(:
